Red Squirrel

About red squirrel hunting
Squirrel hunting is rare in modern Norway but has historical traditions tied to fur trapping. The squirrel is hunted with a small-caliber rifle or air rifle.
The hunt involves moving quietly through coniferous forest, searching for squirrels in the treetops. Listen for the characteristic chattering and watch for movement in the branches.
Squirrel fur was historically valuable, especially the winter coat, which is grey and dense.
