About pink-footed goose hunting
Pink-footed goose hunting in Trøndelag is worth the trip. Thousands of geese pass through the region in September and October, and the hunt can yield good results when the migration conditions are right.
Hunting is done as stand hunting with decoys on stubble fields, just like for greylag goose. The difference is that pink-footed geese often fly in large, high formations and can be harder to call in.
Timing is everything. The migration is governed by weather and wind, and the best days often come in clusters. Follow bird counts and reports from local hunters to hit the timing right.
Same equipment as for greylag goose hunting. Steel shot in size 1–3 with good choke.

Distribution
Kortnebbgåsa hekker på Svalbard og trekker gjennom Trøndelag og Nordland på vei til vinterområdene i Danmark, Nederland og Belgia. De største konsentrasjonene er i Nord-Trøndelag.
Terrain
Stubbåkre og gressenger i jordbrukslandskapet. Gåsa raster gjerne i store flokker på innmark nær elvemunninger og våtmarksområder.
Identification
Gråbrun med mørkt hode og kort, rosa-svart nebb. Noe mindre enn grågåsa.
