The Eurasian jay is a colourful corvid that is hunted to a limited extent. It is most relevant to shoot during other hunts, as its sharp alarm calls can spoil approaches to other game.
It is intelligent and difficult to approach. Hunting with decoys or at regular feeding stations in winter can provide opportunities.

Nøtteskriken finnes i skog over hele Sør-Norge og langs kysten til Trøndelag. Den er standfugl og holder seg i samme område hele året.
Terrain
Blandingsskog med eik og hassel. Nøtteskriken hamstrer nøtter om høsten og har en viktig rolle i spredningen av eik.
Identification
Rosa-brun med svarte og hvite vingemerker og et karakteristisk blått felt på vingen. Svart bart.
