About tufted duck hunting

The tufted duck is one of the most common diving ducks in Norway. It has a characteristic crest on the back of its head and is easy to recognise.

Hunting is done as stand hunting at lakes and ponds. Tufted ducks often gather in flocks on open water and can be drawn in with decoys.

They dive often and for long periods and can disappear underwater in the middle of an approach. Patience is important.
