About great cormorant hunting

Cormorant hunting has become more relevant as the population has increased sharply along the Norwegian coast. Many fishermen and fish farmers consider cormorants a problem, and hunting is one of the management tools.

Hunting is done from boats or stands along the coast. Cormorants are wary and hard to approach, but you can hunt effectively by lying in concealment near regular roosting sites.

A shotgun with heavy shot (size 2–3) is needed. The cormorant is a large, tough bird.
