The Canada goose is a non-native species with an increasing population in Norway. The hunt is conducted the same way as for greylag goose, with stand hunting and decoys.
It is easier to hunt than the greylag goose because it is less wary and tends to stay near freshwater and parks. The best areas are around lakes and rivers in the lowlands.
Hunting early in the season, in August and September, is most productive. Later in autumn, the birds can become more wary and harder to approach.

Distribution
Kanadagåsa er en innført art som har etablert seg i store deler av Sør-Norge, særlig rundt Oslofjorden, i Rogaland og i Trøndelag. Bestanden er økende.
Terrain
Innsjøer, elver og parker i lavlandet. Kanadagåsa trives nær ferskvann og beiter på gressenger og jordbruksland. Den er mindre sky enn grågåsa og finnes ofte nær bebyggelse.
Identification
Svart hode og hals med hvit hakeremme. Brun kropp. Større enn grågåsa.
