About european shag hunting
The European shag is a slimmer relative of the great cormorant. Hunting is done the same way, with stand hunting along the coast or from boats.
It is somewhat less wary than the great cormorant and can be easier to approach at regular roosting sites in the skerries.

Jakta er begrenset til kystfylkene. Toppskarven er mindre tallrik enn storskarven.
Weight
1,5–2 kg
Distribution
Toppskarven hekker langs norskekysten fra Rogaland til Finnmark, med størst konsentrasjon i Nord-Norge.
Terrain
Kystfarvann og holmer. Toppskarven er mer knyttet til kysthabitater enn storskarven og finnes sjelden i ferskvann.
Identification
Svart med grønn metalglans. Slankere enn storskarven, med en liten topp i hekkesesongen.
